CHRISTMAS TREE LANE
AND GINGERBREAD HOUSES
Registration Form

Picture
The opening of Old Courthouse Museum Christmas Tree Lane will be at our Open House on Sunday, December 2 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Come to view and vote on your favorite trees, then enjoy light refreshments and holiday music throughout the courthouse.

Voting continues through December, until we close for the Christmas Holiday.

The themes for Christmas Tree Lane are "Taste of Christmas" or "Illinois Bicentennial." You may choose to use a theme or not.

Decorating is open to all groups, organizations, families, classrooms, churches and businesses. There is no charge. Trees are provided by ICHS and you bring your decorations and lights.

There will also be a Gingerbread House Gallery this year. Your "gingerbread" house can be made of any medium or theme, and the only restriction is that it must fit into the display case. Houses should be brought to the Museum by 4 p.m. on Friday, November 30.

You can stop by the museum during office hours or call to reserve your tree. The registration form is also available from the museum website. If you cannot make it to the museum to choose a tree, we can do that for you.

You can decorate trees at the museum Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The museum will also be open Sunday, November 18 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. for decorating trees. We will be closed November 21-23 for the Thanksgiving Holiday and reopen with regular hours November 26.

Trees must be decorated and houses must be delivered before December 1, so please have decorations in place by 4 p.m. on Friday, November 30. If you have any questions, please call the museum office at 815-432-2215 during business hours.

The trees and houses will be voted on by museum visitors through December up to our closing for the Christmas holiday at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21. Additionally, a panel of judges will be choosing best trees in the categories os BEST USE OF THEME, MOST ORIGINAL, BEST DECORATED and BEST HAND-CRAFTED DECORATIONS. The Houses will be judged on MOST ORIGINAL and BEST DECORATED DISPLAY.
